Srinagar, January 13 (KNO) : All Parties Huriyat Conference on Saturday denounced Mehbooba Mufti for her statement in state legislative assembly, saying that negative statements won’t alter the narrative nor people can be misled by these rhetoric’s. Lamenting Mehbooba Mufti for her statement in state assembly, where in she said that “making Kashmir a part of India was the bold and historic decision of Sheikh Abdullah and Hari Singh, Hurriyat said that Mehbooba is resorting to blatant lies, saying that It is her lust for power and while refuting the hard realities about Kashmir issue, she is doing wrong interpretations of historical events. It is nothing but her deceit to remain in power corridors and as such is tormenting all ethics and historical facts, added Hurriyat. Lashing at Mehbooba Mufti for her negative rhetoric, APHC said that she has no mandate to represent aspirations of people nor authorised to decide or say about political destiny of Kashmir, adding the statement is a bundle of lies and quite contrary to basic realities. Statement said that unauthorised and doubtful accession has proved profitable for Mufti dynasty, however it added miseries and hardships to common people in state. Since past seven decades the state is reeling under continuous state of uncertainty and hundreds of thousands of people were killed during this period, added Huriyat. APHC said that soon as Indian forces landed, the territory, the state turned into a battle field and one of the most highly militarised zone. Hurriyat while referring to suppressive and coercive methods employed by Indian forces and their henchmen in state, said that during forces custody thousands of people mostly youth, disappeared, staged fake encounters, arbitrarily arrested and tortured the youth, destroyed property and resorted to arson and plunder. Since past seven decades Six lakhs were killed and thousands injured, more than one lakh people were killed during past 27 years, ten thousand disappeared in forces custody and unknown youth are buried in seven thousand unmarked graves. The persistent turmoil and bloodshed has added more than 7000 half-widows, 22862 widows and 107676 orphans. 143048 youth were tortured in torture centres, thousands maimed, 108596 houses and shops vandalised, ten thousand women molested, Huriyat said. Statement said that in 2008,2010 and 2016 brute forces surpassed all records of torture and atrocities. Huriyat while rejecting the statement of Mehbooba Mufti, said that during peoples uprising and post Burhan episode 102 civilians were killed, 7340 maimed, 6000 injured due to pellets and partially damaging eyes of more than 1000. During this period the eyesight of 64 was completely damaged, 79,500 houses vandalised ,8000 vehicles damaged and more than 9000 youth arrested, adding that in 582 were arrested in year2016, 582 slapped with PSA and arrest warrants issued against 524 activists. Huriyat said that situation despite tall claims of these Delhi groomed henchmen is mournful and awful, saying since 1989, in Sopor, Kupwara, Handwara, Tengpora, Hawal, Mashali Mohalla, Chati Singhpora, Wandhama Bijbahara, Barakpora thousands of innocent people including infants and women were brutally massacred by ruthless forces and residential areas and shops razed to ground. All these mad killings suggest that no sane person can legitimize or plead this so-called accession with India, saying that it is because of the deceit and opportunistic approach of these henchmen that people are miserably suffering, said Hurriyat. Huriyat conference said that Kashmir is a disputed territory and while lamenting New Delhi for their deceit, Huriyat said that It was India that took the case to the UNO. Eighteen resolutions were passed that people of Jammu Kashmir will be given the opportunity to exercise their right to self-determination and the United Nations Security Council stands guarantees for the right to self-determination to the Kashmiri people. India is a signatory to this, however they failed to fulfil their commitment,” Huriyat added. Huriyat reiterated that they will pursue freedom mission till its final resolution is accomplished as per aspirations of people in state. (KNO)
